Review – The Ordinary High-Advance Primer

Welcome back!

Today’s post is special because I’m reviewing for the first time a primer, yes, I’ve never tried before a primer, you may wonder why, well I never thought that can do something for me, although I have an oily skin.

A few months ago I’ve placed an order from Farmacia Tei and I saw that they have The Ordinary products, being curious I’ve purchased the silicone primer. I like this brand because is vegan and cruelty-free so a big plus.

the_ordinaryI have a combo skin with large pores and redness

“This formula uses advanced adaptive silicones to act as a matte, hydrating, blurring primer for makeup that looks higher in definition and adheres for longer. The formula can also be used alone as a non-greasy hydrator that reduces the looks of pores and of imperfections.”

– fast absorbing
– easy to use package
– keep my makeup in place for over 17 hours
blur-ish effect

– after 2 hours I get greasy

Price: 5€ (30ml)

I do not recommend it for oily or combo skin, in my opinion, it will work great on a normal or dry skin. It’s not a bad product at all, I enjoyed my time using it, I’m wearing my makeup in a working day for over 17 hours and I was surprised to see that my foundation and blush were still looking good at the end of the day, but of course, my t-zone was shiny. About the blurring effect, well my huge pores looked kind of smaller but not a noticeable difference.

Review – Philips Lumea IPL Hair Removal

Welcome back!

I have a very exciting post for you today and I’ve been waiting for 6 months to share with you my experience with Philips Lumea IPL hair removal. I think you all agree with me that hair removing is quite annoying and painful, so I was looking for a while for a long-lasting solution. Professional hair removing was on my mind, but it was expensive, so I got my eyes on IPL hair removing at home.

After a long night, searching for the best tool I’ve purchased the Philips Lumea IPL SC1997/00. You have to keep in mind that the results are not permanent.

philips (1)

What it is
Philips Lumea uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology that prevents hair regrow. It’s for use on body and face, has >250,000 lamp flashes, 2 heads, one for the body and the other one for face, and 5 levels of light intensity.

The lamp flashes are very important, the higher the number the longer you can use it.

How it works
The pulses of light are absorbed by the hair root and stimulate the hair follicle to go into a resting phase, as a result, the hair sheds naturally and hair regrowth is prevented. The treatment lasts about 8 weeks and then followed by touch-ups once a month or every two months.

“Philips Lumea works effectively on (naturally) dark blonde, brown and black hairs. As with other light-based treatments, Philips Lumea is not effective on red, light-blonde or white/grey hair. This product is also not suitable for dark skin.”

If you have dark hair and light skin this will work perfectly on you.

My experience
I was surprised by how easy to use is, has a cable adapter that sometimes gets in my way, but it’s not a big deal for me. I respected the 8 weeks treatment which means 5 treatments, one treatment at every 2 weeks, and in the manual, it says that after the first treatment in one or two weeks the first results will occur, well that was not my case.

I saw the first result after the fourth and fifth treatment, you can image how disappointed I was seeing that my hair hasn’t fallen off not after the second or the thirst treatment, but I didn’t give up, I wanted to finish the 8 weeks treatment.

Now I’m using Lumea once a month and the results get better and better. So, here are my results after the 8 weeks treatment: legs – 80% hair loss, bikini area – 50%, arms – 70%, underarms – 50%, and moustache – 30%. I was pretty pleased about my legs and arms, but very disappointed about my bikini area and underarm, where I expected a lot more, I hope that in the following months I will lose more hair.

It hurts? Well, sometimes yes, but not in all the areas, it’s not a pain you can handle, it’s like thousands of needles are pricking your skin, the good part is that the sensation passes quickly.

I’ve noticed that although, not all the hair has gone the one remains is weaker and grow more slowly, so it’s still a good thing.

Even though it wasn’t a complete success for me because not all my area responded to the treatment the same way,  I am still happy that I’ve purchased this product. Yes, I still have hair growing, but the fact that is way less, has a weak root and the waxing is no longer painful makes me believe that I’ve achieved something.

Review – Batiste Texturizing Spray

I have kind of a difficult hair, it’s oily, fine, without volume, and frizzy so you can imagine how hard is for me to manage a hair like that. Batiste is my favourite brand when it comes to dry shampoo (if you are interested I have a blog post about some of them here) having a hair that gets oily after just 1 day it’s a very annoying.

Being a Batiste fan I wanted to try their other products and I chose a texturizing product, I thought that it will be a good match for my fine hair without volume. If you live in Romania you can find them in Sensiblu, but on or emag are much cheaper.

“Want effortless, textured, tousled hair? Look no further. With a quick spritz the non-sticky and lightweight formula, infused with caring Keratin and Inca Inchi oil, instantly adds body and movement for an irresistibly super-sexy tousled look you’ll love.”

– no colour spray
– adds body

– it is sticky
– made my hair greasy

Price: 4€ (200ml) from Sensiblu promotion

Well for me it was a disappointment, maybe it was just my hair that didn’t get along with this product. It creates that messy hair look but not in a good way. I was using the texturizing spray when I wore my hair up in a bun or a ponytail to create an illusion of more hair, and at the end of the day, my hair was oily and dirty.

Beautiful Romania – Rodna Mountains

Welcome back!

Until now, unfortunately, I had just one vacation that I spent in my beautiful country, Romania, but the year is not over yet, so I still have time for another trip.

For this time I was not looking for a hike, I just wanted to go somewhere quiet and beautiful just to relax, but I still wanted to do some walks. So after some debating, we chose the Roda Mountains that are located in the region of Maramures.

The Rodna Mountains have the highest peak measuring about 2 303m, Pietrosul Rodnei, that I hiked when I was a little girl. Are easy mountains to hike that offers you a beautiful view and a lot of things to discover like caves, waterfall, lakes, and churches.

Up north near the Ukrainian border. You can go with your own car or by train, enter the CFR site and find your tickets.

I recommend you the Borsa city or the Borsa resort, I stayed in the last one at Hotel Paltinis, 120Ron/27€ per night, nice, but not the best. When it comes to food, you can choose either the hotel restaurants in the area or go to the Borsa city, where I recommend you the 2 Pauni restaurant, cheap and good.

What to do

Hike the Pietrosul Rodnei
From Borsa city follow the blue line indicator and in 4 hours you’ll be on top.

Horses Waterfall
Is located at 1 300m and is the tallest waterfall in Romania, 80m. You can reach it from Borsa resort by foot, follow the red triangle path and in 2-3 hours you will be there, or use the chairlift if you don’t want to hike. From Borsa resort to the top of the mountain with the chairlift you make 15 minutes and from there to the waterfall another 20 minutes, but is a nice walk in the woods, nothing difficult. borsa (4)

The Cave and The Blue Spring of Iza
You can reach it from Moisei or Sacel, at one point the road will get bumpy, if you have a 4×4 car you are lucky, if you don’t, you will have to park and go on foot for about 1 hour and a half, but it’s an easy walk.

See the watermills

Discover the flora and fauna

I really enjoyed my time in Rodna Mountains, just staying and admiring the nature. It’s not the most magnificent place you’ll ever see, but is a rich place, and what I mean by that, is you can find here what ever you want, it is the largest national park in Romania and has an important flora and fauna.

Review – Uriage Hyseac R Cream

Welcome back!

Since my teenage years I had problems with my skin, not acne, but dry patches, redness, blackheads, sebum, and so on. I’ve tried a lot of things to achieve a good looking skin, some of them worked, but my skin still wasn’t looking as I wished.

And if that wasn’t enough a couple years ago I had a very bad irritation, even today I don’t know what was that or what caused it. What help me back then was Zineryt, if you want to read my whole story click here.

I was putting on my face Zineryt, products for blackheads, redness and mattifying creams because I have an oily skin, so you can imagine with how much stuff I was torturing my skin.

Back in the present, my skin looks better, I used Avene Cleanance Expert, read the review here, and La Roche-Posay Kerium DS Cream, the review here, and both of them were good.

A couple weeks ago I wanted a new cream, but I wanted something new, something to renew my skin and I’ve bought Uriage Hyseac R Cream from, if you are from Romania they have very good prices.

“Hyseac R is the perfect ally for skin that has been dried out by treatments as it brings immediate and long-lasting comfort. Its formula enriched with TLR2 REGUL (Uriage patent) and Prickly pear cactus extract reinforces the soothing performance of the product and delivers immediate comfort.

Restores the skin barrier with the patented complex Cerasterol-2F, this product helps to rebuild and reinforce the skin barrier while respecting its natural physiology. The active ingredients provide long-lasting hydration.”

– fast-absorbing
– a small amount is enough
– hydrating
– light formula

– none

Price: 7€ (40ml) from

I like it and I recommend it, I’ve been using it for almost one month and I really love that is fast absorbing. I had small dry patches around my nose and now are gone, so it helped me a lot with that, my foundation looked horrible in that region. It is also a good makeup base.

What do you think about Uriage Hyseac R Cream?
