Review – Batiste Texturizing Spray

I have kind of a difficult hair, it’s oily, fine, without volume, and frizzy so you can imagine how hard is for me to manage a hair like that. Batiste is my favourite brand when it comes to dry shampoo (if you are interested I have a blog post about some of them here) having a hair that gets oily after just 1 day it’s a very annoying.

Being a Batiste fan I wanted to try their other products and I chose a texturizing product, I thought that it will be a good match for my fine hair without volume. If you live in Romania you can find them in Sensiblu, but on elefant.ro or emag are much cheaper.

batiste

“Want effortless, textured, tousled hair? Look no further. With a quick spritz the non-sticky and lightweight formula, infused with caring Keratin and Inca Inchi oil, instantly adds body and movement for an irresistibly super-sexy tousled look you’ll love.”

PROS
– no colour spray
– adds body

CONS
– it is sticky
– made my hair greasy

Price: 4€ (200ml) from Sensiblu promotion

Conclusion
Well for me it was a disappointment, maybe it was just my hair that didn’t get along with this product. It creates that messy hair look but not in a good way. I was using the texturizing spray when I wore my hair up in a bun or a ponytail to create an illusion of more hair, and at the end of the day, my hair was oily and dirty.

Beautiful Romania – Rodna Mountains

Welcome back!

Until now, unfortunately, I had just one vacation that I spent in my beautiful country, Romania, but the year is not over yet, so I still have time for another trip.

For this time I was not looking for a hike, I just wanted to go somewhere quiet and beautiful just to relax, but I still wanted to do some walks. So after some debating, we chose the Roda Mountains that are located in the region of Maramures.

The Rodna Mountains have the highest peak measuring about 2 303m, Pietrosul Rodnei, that I hiked when I was a little girl. Are easy mountains to hike that offers you a beautiful view and a lot of things to discover like caves, waterfall, lakes, and churches.

Localization
Up north near the Ukrainian border. You can go with your own car or by train, enter the CFR site and find your tickets.

Accommodation
I recommend you the Borsa city or the Borsa resort, I stayed in the last one at Hotel Paltinis, 120Ron/27€ per night, nice, but not the best. When it comes to food, you can choose either the hotel restaurants in the area or go to the Borsa city, where I recommend you the 2 Pauni restaurant, cheap and good.

What to do

Hike the Pietrosul Rodnei
From Borsa city follow the blue line indicator and in 4 hours you’ll be on top.

Horses Waterfall
Is located at 1 300m and is the tallest waterfall in Romania, 80m. You can reach it from Borsa resort by foot, follow the red triangle path and in 2-3 hours you will be there, or use the chairlift if you don’t want to hike. From Borsa resort to the top of the mountain with the chairlift you make 15 minutes and from there to the waterfall another 20 minutes, but is a nice walk in the woods, nothing difficult. borsa (4)

The Cave and The Blue Spring of Iza
You can reach it from Moisei or Sacel, at one point the road will get bumpy, if you have a 4×4 car you are lucky, if you don’t, you will have to park and go on foot for about 1 hour and a half, but it’s an easy walk.

See the watermills

Discover the flora and fauna

I really enjoyed my time in Rodna Mountains, just staying and admiring the nature. It’s not the most magnificent place you’ll ever see, but is a rich place, and what I mean by that, is you can find here what ever you want, it is the largest national park in Romania and has an important flora and fauna.

Review – Uriage Hyseac R Cream

Welcome back!

Since my teenage years I had problems with my skin, not acne, but dry patches, redness, blackheads, sebum, and so on. I’ve tried a lot of things to achieve a good looking skin, some of them worked, but my skin still wasn’t looking as I wished.

And if that wasn’t enough a couple years ago I had a very bad irritation, even today I don’t know what was that or what caused it. What help me back then was Zineryt, if you want to read my whole story click here.

I was putting on my face Zineryt, products for blackheads, redness and mattifying creams because I have an oily skin, so you can imagine with how much stuff I was torturing my skin.

Back in the present, my skin looks better, I used Avene Cleanance Expert, read the review here, and La Roche-Posay Kerium DS Cream, the review here, and both of them were good.

uriage

A couple weeks ago I wanted a new cream, but I wanted something new, something to renew my skin and I’ve bought Uriage Hyseac R Cream from comenzi.farmaciatei.ro, if you are from Romania they have very good prices.

“Hyseac R is the perfect ally for skin that has been dried out by treatments as it brings immediate and long-lasting comfort. Its formula enriched with TLR2 REGUL (Uriage patent) and Prickly pear cactus extract reinforces the soothing performance of the product and delivers immediate comfort.

Restores the skin barrier with the patented complex Cerasterol-2F, this product helps to rebuild and reinforce the skin barrier while respecting its natural physiology. The active ingredients provide long-lasting hydration.”

PROS
– fast-absorbing
– a small amount is enough
– hydrating
– light formula

CONS
– none

Price: 7€ (40ml) from comenzi.farmaciatei.ro

Conclusion
I like it and I recommend it, I’ve been using it for almost one month and I really love that is fast absorbing. I had small dry patches around my nose and now are gone, so it helped me a lot with that, my foundation looked horrible in that region. It is also a good makeup base.

Review – La Roche-Posay Effaclar Cleanser

Welcome back!

As I mentioned many times before I have oily skin with problems, not acne but red patches, large pores and so on. For a while, I bought just drugstore products to remove my makeup and clean my face, but none of them worked for me. So, I decided to try dermatological products, because I had a very good experience with products like La Roche-Posay Kerium DS Cream and Avene Cleanance Expert.

The main problem I have with cleansers for oily skin is that my skin feels so dry after washing. I might have an oily skin, but I still want a gentle cleanser to remove my makeup and clean my face.

After some search online looking for other reviews and doctor’s recommendations, I’ve decided to give it a try to La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel, just because fulfilled all my demands.

effaclar

“Gently cleanses impurities while respecting skin’s pH balance for oily skin. Zinc purifies skin and helps remove excess oil with a clear, refreshing texture. Use as a daily face wash for oily skin. Soap-free. Alcohol-free. Oil Free. Paraben free. Suitable for sensitive skin.”

PROS
– removes makeup
– a small amount is enough
– not drying the skin
– easy to use packaging

CONS
– parfum/fragrance as the last ingredient

Price: 11€ (400ml) from emag.ro

Conclusion
I really like La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel and I recommend it. What I enjoy the most is that my skin is not dry after that, it just feels clean and smooth. I appreciate the packaging, so easy to use and it’s enough just one pump for me. It doesn’t really have a scent, all though the last ingredient is parfum/fragrance.

If you are from Romania you can find it a very good price on emag or farmacia tei.

Review – Batiste Dry Shampoo

Another review about a hair product!

I think that in this month I had reviewed quite a lot of hair products, to be honest, I try to take better care of my hair, I use the hair straighter a lot and because my hair is flat and greasy I tease it every day to have a decent look.

Yes, I have a greasy hair and if you are like me, you might know that a dry shampoo is a great saver between washes. I’ve tried several dry shampoos, but by far the Batiste ones are the best. If you live in Romania you can find them in Sensiblu, but on elefant.ro are much cheaper.

“Batiste refreshes your hair between washes, leaving it feeling gorgeously clean and fresh with added body and texture. No water required! With a range of products to choose from, Batiste makes every day a fabulous hair day.” Indeed.

In my experience, all Batiste dry shampoos have the same results, but you are able to choose a scent and here are those that I’ve tried, from left my favourite to right least favourite.

batiste

Batiste Cherry
My favourite one until now. What I really like about this product is that the scent is long lasting, at the end of the day my hair still smelled like cherries, fact that I couldn’t experience with the rest of shampoos.

Batiste Sweetie
If you like sweet perfumes this will be your favourite dry shampoo, when I used this product I thought about candies, I’m not a fan of sweet scents, but I appreciated the longevity, is not as long lasting like Cherry but is better than the rest below.

Batiste Original
Has a fresh scent that disappears after 10 minutes, I would say that this is made for those of you how are not enjoying a scented dry shampoo.

Batiste Blush
I forgot to include it in the picture, my mistake, it’s the one with pink flowers on the bottle. Has a nice sweetish floral scent that is not quite my style.

Batiste Strength and Shine
This one supposed to strengthen the hair structure, I haven’t seen a difference and I can’t imagine how a dry shampoo can do that but is still a good product with a soft fresh scent.

PROS
– absorbs the sebum
– gives volume
– nice scents

CONS
– none

Price: 4€ (200ml) from elefant.ro

Conclusion
I really recommend them, it has a nice way to refresh the hair especially when is a greasy one and besides that, adds volume and scent to your hair.

At the end, I would like to share with some tips and how to use a dry shampoo, because I’ve seen a lot of people that didn’t know how to use it, and blaming the products that are not good because the results weren’t so great.

Dry shampoos are sprays that absorb the excess oil, offer volume, and adds texture to your hair (some of them). You have to spray it evenly from a 25cm distance, let it sit for 1 minute and then brush it.

If you have dark hair like me don’t be afraid, respect the steps above and you will not have problems, at least with a good dry shampoo like Batiste. Of course, there are specially dry shampoos made for dark hair that has a darker powder, but there are not so popular and sometimes can be hard to find.

TIP! Use it just on the roots and if you spray it too much use the hair dryer to get rid of any white powder.
